Meet Dr. Hilton Lazar

Your Partner in Achieving Optimal Health and Performance

Dr. Hilton Lazar received his Chiropractic degree through the University of Johannesburg in 2014 where his Masters research focused on the immediate effects of chiropractic neck adjustment on gait. This research sparked his interest in the neurophysiological effects of Chiropractic treatment and still has a huge influence on his practice to this day.

As a lifelong martial artist who grew up with a love for sports and movement, Dr. Hilton has always had a passion for understanding human biology, anatomy and movement. This passion is what led him to a career in Chiropractic and ultimately his special interest in Sports Chiropractic and movement-based therapies. He has been lucky enough to have worked with extreme and high performance athletes throughout his career, including many of the Red Bull and Adidas Terrex athletes. He also completed his post-graduate diploma in Sports Chiropractic through the International Federation for Sports Chiropractice in 2015.

Working with professional athletes has allowed him to really refine his skills and techniques under the most extreme conditions of human movement and performance and to then use these same techniques and learnings in his day-to-day practice.

Dr. Hilton challenges the traditional Chiropractic premise that joints need to be aligned to relieve pain and have good movement. Instead, he believes that the role of Chiropractic is to get the right inputs going to the brain so that it can send the appropriate outputs to the various body parts, allowing them to move better and more efficiently. He uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to achieve this, including dry needling, movement and chiropractic adjustments. He maintains that the role of Chiropractic goes beyond the physical treatment and that he also has an important role to play in listening to his patients and providing a supportive environment for healing.

Dr. Hilton believes in a collaborative and patient-centred approach, empowering his patients to take control of their own movement and bodies wherever possible and to not be reliant on Chiropractic treatment in the long-run.
